As a core component of a customer acquisition strategy, there is always room for experimentation with email. Whether landing on new campaign concepts, testing copy variations by generation, or introducing more eye-catching animation, my goal as an email marketer is always to connect in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.
I am often surprised by what campaigns perform the best which has helped broaden my scope of communication ideas and leave room for more fun! In one particular campaign, I combined the celebration of May the Fourth and Cinco de Mayo in a nod to Star Wars fans and taco lovers -- the campaign generated close to 500k in new loans, becoming one of our top performing campaigns to date.
The lesson for me? When it comes to communication from brands, people enjoy being surprised. The average inbox is inundated with promotional emails so it's important to find unique ways to catch (and keep) the attention of readers -- so long as the tone doesn't stray away from your core brand voice.
